A walk among the roses is the inspiration for this English Tea Rose shawl. Fascinated with the blend of colors in the hybrid “Peace” rose, this warm yellow to rose colored gradient shawl is befitting of its namesake. The feminine ruching between layers of lace stitching and the delicate opalescent beads add to the ambiance of this shawl, creating a flirtatious piece worthy of your wardrobe.

Notes on Project

This came out much better than I anticipated. I was doing a mash-up of three different patterns, hoping they would all work together in a triangular shawl. The color inspiration didn’t come until later when I saw a thread on Ravelry asking for these particular colors. I think mine are a bit more saturated than what the person was looking for, but I just love mine. It was touch and go, dyeing it after the fact and trying to keep the look of a gradient done before knitting but I think I achieved it. I only wish I had more sunlight to properly show off this beauty.

Color: Warm yellows to pinks.
Size: One size (S – XL), Measures 58″ wide by 29″ long.
Material: 50% Blue-faced Leicester, 50% Silk.
Gently hand wash – Lay flat or dry clean.

This shawl is for sale at my Needles ‘n Purls store.
