In the Store: Written in the Stars shawl

Written in the Stars shawl.

Teal blues to purple variegated gradient combine with a spiral swirl of lace-patterned stitches to turn this Written in the Stars shawl into something out-of-this-world. The sparkling beads add a touch of glimmer while the merino and silk blend of yarn, create a lush texture to behold. This asymmetrical, crescent-shaped shawl wears well with anything in your wardrobe. Pair it with blue jeans or with an elegant black dress; either way it’ll look stellar.

Notes on project:

First time using this asymmetrical spiral Isola pattern by Tiziana Sammuri and am please with how it turned out. I couldn’t quite tell how it was shaping up while knitting it, but with blocking magic, it turned into a beautiful crescent shaped shawl. I almost hate putting it up in the store, but I need more inventory. And, I absolutely love this Gobsmacked Yarn. The merino and silk combo is wonderful to touch although it might be slightly too drapey for this pattern. I think if I knit it again, I’ll use a Wolfelle’s yarn as it has a bit more weight. I might also try a different lace edge pattern or the texture in the spirals. It can be adapted in so many ways. Something in the future to experiment with.
