Champagne Aeolian shawl

This shawl has to be my very favorite shawl made to date. I actually didn’t expect this to come out as stunning as it did. I had purchased some Knit Picks Alpaca Cloud lace yarn in Oyster because I thought I needed to add some neutral colors to my palette of beautiful shawls. It wasn’t until I had it off the needles and blocked that I realized how gorgeous the outcome was.

Elizabeth Freeman’s Aeolian pattern is super-easy to make. I basically followed the full shawl pattern to a T. The most difficult part was purling the Nupps. Once you have that down, you’re home free. The Alpaca cloud lace is incredibly soft and it drapes perfectly. The beading was easy too once you purchased a beading tool. I’ll tell you right now, a floss-threaded just doesn’t cut it.

This shawl ended up as a gift to one of my friends in Texas. As soon as I saw the end product, I knew it would look  great on a tall, dark-haired beauty.
