Rosy Aeolian shawl

This particular shawl or shoulderette was a custom order for a customer who wanted a shorter shawl in peaches and pinks. I selected Dream in Color Wisp yarn in the color Rosy. I had knit another shawl in this color and thought that it would work well for this request. I think I bought the very last skein in the world because Dream in Color stopped making this yarn.

I used Elizabeth Freeman’s Aeolian pattern, but since this lady liked a shorter version, I used the alternate tail version. I love how it turned out and the customer was thrilled. She was buying it for her twin sister, and almost decided to keep it herself. The one thing I can say about Elisabeth Freeman’s patterns is that they always knit up beautifully.

I finished this project in 3 days! Record time for me. Short shawls are always nice to make because the project doesn’t drag on for months. They usually only need one skein of yarn as well and there’s never a lot left over to find use for.
