Baltic-blue Aeolian cowl

Brighten your basics with this beautiful, Baltic-blue hand-knit lace cowl. A lovely accessory to dress-up any blouse or outfit, or can also be worn as a hood in windy or cool weather. This cowl is knit in super-soft Merino wool; a wonderful way to keep snuggly warm when it’s cool out.

Just finished this today and love the results. Super happy with the end result. I’m tempted to keep this one for myself.  I used about 250 – 300 yards of Madelintosh Tosh Lace – Baltic yarn to complete this cowl.

These knit up pretty quickly. I just cast-on a multiple of whatever pattern I’m using to get to around 22o stitches, then knit in the round, following the pattern repeat inset. (One row of pattern, one row of knit all stitches to mimic the all purl rows.)  I knit 6 rows of garter at the beginning to finish the upper edge. I do need to get a face mannequin for my photos of these. A stuffed t-shirt just doesn’t look as elegant.
