Once Upon a Cowl

Once Upon a Cowl.

Inspired by Diana Rozenshteyn’s Once upon a Leaf wrap pattern, this hand-knit lace cowl in peacock blue, royal blue and purple is stunning. I’ve loved this yarn ever since I made the Peacock Jaali shawl, and decided the remaining yarn would look beautiful as a cowl.

I originally purchased this pattern to make a rectangular wrap for the store but after deciding that I didn’t like knitting wraps, I thought I could at least use the pattern in a cowl. I’m extremely pleased with the results. The pattern was easy to knit; the most difficult part of making this was  the Picot bind off stitch. Once I was able to get a rhythm going though, it finished off rather quickly. Sure glad I wasn’t doing a long shawl bind off.

Size: One size (S – XL). Measures 22″ circumference by 13″ long.
Material: 70% Baby Alpaca, 20% Silk, 10% cashmere.
