Beautiful blue hyacinths embellish this charming hand-knit lace scarf in a lovely shade of sky blue. Flirtatious and fun, this Blue Hyacinth scarf with its Estonian lace stitching and ruffled edge, add a touch of romantic flair to any outfit. Hand-knit in a silk and Merino blend yarn that drapes wonderfully around the neckline, this scarf is sure to be a favorite accessory. Put a bit of Romance into your wardrobe.
This was my first time knitting the Pasque Flowers shawl pattern. I hadn’t planned on making the all Nupps version but I found the zigzag pattern for the other version created a hump at the neckline that I didn’t think looked very good, so I opted to knit more Nupps instead of fixing the other variation. I honestly didn’t mind all the Nupp stitches, it was those tricky little X stitches that gave me fits. An awkward move for a person who knits Continental and my wrists would tire out after a few rows. I kept plugging onward, but changed the pattern when it came to the ruffled edge. I think the silkiness of the yarn was preventing the extra stitching from ruffling well, so I opted to add more increases, and just knit the ruffle in stockinette. Love the result, even if the pattern was a lot of work. The way the Nupps clump in little areas reminds me of a field of Blue Hyacinths.
