Dark and delicate, this Sweet Dreams shawl is sure to please. Knit with a hand-painted, deep purple-to-claret Merino yarn, this elegant Estonian-lace shawl is perfect for evening wear or to dress up your casual wardrobe. Its intricate pattern drapes well on your shoulders, or wear it as a scarf. Either way, you’re sure to get noticed.
This shawl is part Birds nest shawl, part Percy shawl, part Vestland shawl, the combination of which doesn’t resemble any of the whole. Some of it I played by ear, and some I followed the pattern, not bothering to actually chart any of what I did. My bad! I may go back and chart it up later, by looking at the shawl itself, if it’s not snatched off the store shelves right away. I’m just a bit tired of fiddling with it at this point. I do love how it came out. There are a few things I’d do differently the next time around, if there is a next time.
