Night Skies Over the Desert cowl mimics the blue found in the desert skies at night. The deep royals and navy blue is only broken up by a smattering of starlight, seen through the lace fan tail stitches. Knit with a gorgeous Alpaca and silk blend, you can add this cowl to a favorite blouse, or a simple dress for an elegant touch of warmth and color.
This cowl was knit using the last two charts of Romi Hill’s High Desert shawl. Thought the fan-tail edge would make a beautiful cowl and I wasn’t wrong. I love how this turned out. I started this project back in October, and finally got around to finishing it. I’m glad I did. I think it turned out stunning. If the alpaca yarn didn’t bother my allergies so much, I’d keep this one for myself.
