From brilliant violet to vibrant green, this Peacock Blues shawl is absolutely stunning in a soft-to-the-touch Blue-faced Leicester and silk gradient yarn. Add the sparkle of beading and a silky sheen, and this fantail design captures the pride of the peacock. Pair it with an evening dress or a pair of casual jeans, whichever the choice, you’ll receive so many compliments, you’ll be beaming with pride.
Love how this pattern came out in the heavier, fingering weight yarn. Also love the nupp stitches I added at the eye of the peacock feathers. They add the density that I thought was lacking in the lighter, lace weight shawl that I made a few months back. The colors are stunning. I have to admit though, I wanted a bit more of an emerald green than this yarn contained. I’m toying with dipping it in a slightly blue dye bath to get that color green, or maybe just putting this one up for sale at the store and knitting another one if that Peacock Tencel yarn ever comes back in stock. Decisions, decisions.
