Comments on the project
I won the Verve Peacock gradient yarn for this shawl in a Ravelry contest sponsored by The Unique Sheep. It was so pretty that I decided to buy a second batch and make the full size Green Gables shawl pattern. I also decided to splurge and buy #6 Metallic Iris AB Round Japanese Seed Beads by Toho because the colors were a perfect match to the yarn. I think it’s turned out gorgeous. The pattern itself was a breeze to knit. I love that the designer numbers multiple stitches in the row so you don’t have to count every square. I ended up doing a picot bind off instead of the knitted on border the pattern called for. I just thought the edge needed more pizzazz. I played with beading it, but it was already so heavy I decided not to in the end. This is another very warm shawl.
