This luscious purple to a coppery brown gradient Autumn Vineyard shawl is reminiscent of the Napa valley and the majestic hues created as the vineyard changes into its fall wardrobe. The intricate lace-knit pattern of this shawl, mimics the shape of grape leaves on the vine. Soft cashmere and silk turn this shawl into a harvest of decadence. Hello Autumn! Your colors are just divine this season!
Notes on Project
This shawl was such an undertaking but I’m so pleased with the result that I’m keeping it for myself. The yarn, which started out as a blue to gray to copper, was dyed to the purple-lavender-copper color you see now. The original colors were pretty, but much too gray for my liking. I loved the copper color and thought if the rest were shades of purple, this would be a gorgeous yarn. I was right.
And I knew just the pattern for it too. I’d seen the Twinity Shawl pattern by Anne-Lise Maigaard knit in a heavier weight yarn and thought the design perfect for my new gradient. The pattern was challenging, but in a good way and although I had tons of distractions along the way, I finally finished and blocked it today. I love it! There’s not a thing I’d do differently on this pattern, except maybe make a few more. It’s just stunning.
