Wintery white blends to the tiniest hint of iced-aqua, in this subtle, gradient Snow Queen shawl. The cool-to-the-touch feel of natural-fiber Tencel® yarn and its opalescent beads, inspire a vision of a snow-filled wonderland, reminiscent of the Snow Queen’s Crystal Palace, high in the Alps. Wonderfully soft, this shawl casts its frosty sheen to melt even the most frigid heart.
Notes on Project
The The Swan Princess by Alla Borisova was a fun knit. Just the right amount of bead work in my opinion. I loved how the shawl looked in its natural white color, but my vision of a hint of aqua was the perfect finish for this shawl. I wanted it to feel like an iceberg, with just a glow of color and I achieved the look with a quick dye bath. The #6, round, Japanese seed beads in Ceylon Snowflake by Toho were a perfect match. Their opalescence creates a bit of sparkle when the sunlight hits just right. I’m very happy with how this shawl turned out.
