This stunning Autumn in Quebec shawl is reminiscent of the beautiful Canadian maples leaves changing color in the Fall. Hand-knit in 100% Vivid Fiber Arts Tencel yarn, this silky beauty is soft to the touch. Its tan-to rose gold-to-vivid magenta gradient lend to the feel of Autumn while the lovely leaf motif pattern mimics the shape of maple leaves. Take a walk through the Laurentian Mountains and feel the splendor of nature while you wear this beautiful part of nature.
Notes on the project
I’d knit the Twinity pattern before and loved it, even with all of the twisted stitches. When I saw Vivid Fiber Arts Japanese Maple colorway, I knew the two were destined to be together. Once again, I was right. This shawl is drop-dead gorgeous. The colors are so fluid and the sheen adds so much to this pattern. I only wish these were colors I could wear. The tan is a rather fleshy color, and by itself not much to write home about, but when paired with this vivid magenta it takes on a whole new life. The colors change from the tan, to a copper, to a rose gold, to finally a brilliant magenta. Together they are a wonderful Autumn gradient for this shawl. The beads were some I had ordered only to find out that they didn’t resemble their photo at all. They’re Japanese Toho Metallic Gold/Green/Purple Round Japanese Seed Beads. They’re actually gold, copper, and a pinkish-purpley gold color. Perfect match for this shawl.
